This past weekend I was in Edinburgh, Scotland to visit Grace! After a ton of traveling- there aren't direct flights there- I finally got to Grace's flat. I'm not sure you can even call it a flat (sorry Grace!) I will never complain about my living situation again, her room is quaint, to be nice haha! Anyway, the first night we went over to her friends' apartment to pre-game and then went to this place called the Jazz Bar. There was a live band that was unbelievable and it was just a local Scottish, very cool place!
After lunch we walked through Princess Gardens (below) and took the long way up to the Castle. We walked up this huge hill- thank you google maps- and then realized that it was only really a 5 minute walk from where we originally were. Oh well, exercise!
The Castle is huge!! We could have walked around for hours, well we did! There are so many parts to it and it is situated on the top of the city, as you can see in this picture! We went inside some war exhibits, history of Scotish exhibit, crowned jewels (no diamonds though :( ), and we saw the oldest church in all of Scotland, this cute little building that could barely hold 5 people!
The next day, Saturday, we woke up and were starving (obviously) and went to a delicious breakfast. After breakfast we walked all around old and new town and did some shopping!!! Scotland shopping is 359987087 times better than Prague, so I can only imagine my weekend in Paris next weekend, woo! Once we realized we should stop shopping we headed to the building below, the National SCottish Museum. It is a massive museum that is expanding to become even bigger. We didn't stay long though, but it was interesting. There was a cool fashion exhibition on Jean Muir and that was cool!

That night we went out for Indian Food with Joe and Maddy (my first Indian Food) and it was a success, no sickness! Then we went to a bar called Three Sisters which was fun. After that we went to Decoupage (I think that's what it was called), which is the five story club there, very fun! Lots of dancing, lots of sneaky hiding spots for our coats, and lots of SoCo and lime :)
The next day, we woke up and went for breakfast and then it was time for me to head back to Prague (7 hours later I was back in my apartment ugh!) It was a terrible travel experience! Long story short, my second flight was delayed by an hour and then I was surrounded by disgusting, smelly, loud, rude, not well traveled Czech adults (like 20 of them) who took 20 minutes to figure out where to sit so they could sit according to groups of friends- really, grow up! Then, the hugeeee fat man behind me kept pulling on my seat, it was a constant swaying disneyland ride the entire flight for me. As soon as the seatbelt sign went off all 2o adults decided to congregate around me to talk and smell. They were literally on top of me! Like this guy's disgusting rashy arm was in my hair (I freaked out) and the other guy with bloody hands was touching my arm AHHHH! When I finally couldn't take it anymore, I complained and the stewardess claimed there was nothing she could do about, ya right!!! When I got back to my seat, the man behind me screamed at me in Czech that its not his fault he's too fat to fit and that I can't put my seat back which I was trying to do, again! So, funniest part is the captain came around and asked random passengers to fill out a survey, and I was chosen (gladly!). So, I tore into British Airlines, and I hope they call me so I can complain to them even more. You all know I love to complain!
After the museum (cultural experience!) we went to the Elephant House for lunch! This is where JK Rowling wrote her first Harry Potter! So that was delicious and fun, and now I can say I have been to this famous place!
After that we went to St. Giles Catherdral, soooo pretty! I have been to so many cathedrals in the past few months and I must say this was one of the best I've seen!Ok, that is all for my weekend, very eventful! Now, I have a hell week of writing papers and studying for midterms and getting ready for Paris! I don't want to have to study and do all that while Daylin is here next week, so we'll see how doing work ahead of time in this country works out!
